“He leads me in paths of righteousness for His names’ sake.” – Psalm 23:3b
Bible Verse:
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105, ESV)
Quote:
"Faith is a living, daring confidence in God's grace, so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times." — Martin Luther
Reflection:
Righteousness is not found by wandering aimlessly or by trying harder and harder but by following the light of God's Word. We let God’s Word be the authoritative guide for our path through life. But, just as a lamp does not illuminate the whole journey at once but gives enough light for the next step, God's guidance often unfolds gradually. We walk by faith, trusting that the Holy Spirit leads us rightly. In this Lenten season, consider where God is shining His light on your path and how you are responding. Are you feeling a tug in your spirit in some way? Is God’s Word working on your heart in some way?
Personal Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, guide my steps according to Your Word. Help me trust Your leading even when I do not see the full path ahead. Amen.

“He leads me in paths of righteousness for His names’ sake.” – Psalm 23:3b
Bible Verse:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
(Proverbs 3:5-6, ESV)
Quote:
"The will of God will not take us where the grace of God cannot sustain us." — Billy Graham
Reflection:
God’s paths of righteousness are not always the easiest roads, but they are always the best. Trusting Him means surrendering our limited perspective and following where He leads. His ways are straight, even when they feel uncertain. His paths are best even though they are not the smoothest. Like muscles need to lift weight to grow strong, so we often need the very thing we are avoiding — paths that feel bumpy, crooked, and difficult. During this Lenten season, let go of your need for control and embrace the journey of trust.
Personal Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to trust You fully. Make my paths straight as I lean on Your wisdom instead of my own. Amen.

“He leads me in paths of righteousness for His names’ sake.” – Psalm 23:3b
Bible Verse:
"Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord!" (Psalm 119:1, ESV)
Quote:
"To follow Christ is to walk in the light of His truth and love." — Augustine of Hippo
Reflection:
Righteousness is not something we achieve on our own but something given to us by Christ on the cross. We walk in obedience as a grateful response to the amazing grace we have received through Jesus. Lent is a time of self-examination. The good news is that God has given us His righteousness as a gift. Now He calls on us to live in a way that reflects the righteousness already given. Ask yourself: Am I walking in His ways, or am I walking in my ways, letting a little Jesus in here and there where it seems like a positive thing? Where do I need to let Christ’s ways take control over my own inclinations and intuitions?
Personal Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, keep my steps firm in Your truth. Help me follow You in righteousness and faithfulness. Amen.

“He leads me in paths of righteousness for His names’ sake.” – Psalm 23:3b
Bible Verse:
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10, ESV)
Quote:
"It is not your hold of Christ that saves you—it is Christ; it is not your joy in Christ that saves you—it is Christ."
— Charles Spurgeon
Reflection:
God does not lead us without purpose. He leads us in paths of righteousness, not to earn salvation but as an outflow of His grace. The good works we walk in are prepared by Him, showing that righteousness is not about striving but about following. It’s not about effort but about trust. Our righteousness before God is given as a gift through Jesus Christ. The righteous works of our lives are prepared beforehand for us to walk in. It is God before us, God beside us, and God going ahead of us. Try walking through today with an active awareness of this truth.
Personal Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, help me walk in the works You have prepared for me. Let my life reflect Your righteousness and grace. Amen.

“He leads me in paths of righteousness for His names’ sake.” – Psalm 23:3b
Bible Verse:
"Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked." (1 John 2:6, ESV)
Quote:
"Holiness is not the way to Christ. Christ is the way to holiness." — Adrian Rogers
Reflection:
Jesus is our perfect example of righteousness. To follow Him is to walk as He walked, in love, humility, and obedience to the Father. This is what it means to say, “Jesus is my Lord.” Following Jesus is not a burden but a joy, for His grace enables us to follow. Jesus paid the ultimate price—his own suffering and death—to reconcile us to God. Love for Jesus is the response of those who know what Jesus did for them. Jesus told us that the way we show our love for Him is to follow his commands (John 14:15). As you reflect this Lent, ask yourself this simple and straightforward question: Am I walking as Jesus walked?
Personal Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, shape my life to reflect Christ. Teach me to walk as He walked, in love and obedience. Amen.

“He leads me in paths of righteousness for His names’ sake.” – Psalm 23:3b
Bible Verse:
"And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever." (1 John 2:17, ESV)
Quote:
"You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You." — Augustine of Hippo
Reflection:
The paths of righteousness are eternal paths. The world offers temporary satisfaction. While there is nothing inherently wrong with entertainment and distraction from the cares of life—even social media!—they will never fill the God-shaped void in our souls. The danger is that we use modern distractions to numb our spiritual pain. Only connecting with and walking with God leads to lasting fulfillment. The paths of righteousness are the paths that lead toward God and peace in our soul. This Lenten season, let go of the desires and habits that pull you away from God’s will and rest in the peace of following His lead.
Personal Reflection:
Prayer:
Lord, keep my heart fixed on what is eternal. Lead me in Your will, that I may abide in You forever. Amen.
